Hi all,

Yep tis August all ready this year has gone so quick. For me it's just been so busy non stop, trying to fit as much fishing in as possible, and write my book. I am about 40,000 words into the book so far and its going really well, but its still a long road ahead, I would love to have it finished by the Sandown show but I may be a bit ambitious on that but I will definitely try.

Orders are already being taken on the leather bounds, and any one that does collect them I would suggest you ring this number and get one ordered 0208 3203885 any orders are obviously extremely appreciated thanks in advance.

My own fishing has once again been a nightmare, another dream shattered when the Fat Lady turned up what a shame I was really enjoying St Ives. Iv still been having a dabble after the Norfolk record up at Charity lake she still has not been caught since February. I had a very close encounter with her this week, she was in a weed bed with another smaller fish and she looked very much up for a floater. The only trouble was about twenty five Mallards that would not let you even pick up your pult to put any mixers out to get the fish going, they really were a nightmare. I eventually managed to drift a hook bait down to where she was, and straight away she made a b line for my hook bait, this was it I was going to catch her, the car was still packed it would be just a case of get her in, photo's done and I'm off job done. As she lifted her back out the water and opened her mouth making a small bow wave to take my bait, a bloody Ninja Mallard came from no where and snatched the hook baitYellI have since then decided that I hate Mallards. I will be going back but I'm not in a rush at the moment, maybe later or early next year when she's back at 50 plus.

Our Swampy has had a good season catching the Black Pig at St Ives and then the big common at 36 plus a megga year, but like me our dreams of the Lady are finished, think I am going to join him for a while on the Meadows and Long Reach lakes at St Ives a bit of peace and quiet.

I am pleased with Cartthagena fishery, Brooke and the Syndicate have both produced some very good fish and the recent bit of weather change has made the fish on the syndicate have a munch, with a few 30s getting caught.

I am still unsure about Brooke going syndicate next year, if it does there will be only 30 places, I would like to hear all your view's on this, so maybe it would be a good post on the new forum. By the way you have to register for the newsletter and then confirm your email address (check your inboxes and SPAM folders) to get access to the forum.

Any way that's all for now as I have to get writing again, keep your catch reports coming in, and register to the forum, watch this space for my next blog.

Be very lucky

Jerry.
